Rosalía Takes Flight in a Feathered Erdem Gown

Rosalía has never been afraid of making an entrance, even when there is no red carpet involved. During her latest appearance in New York, the singer transformed the streets of SoHo into her own fashion stage, stepping out in a dramatic feathered gown fresh from Erdem’s Spring 2027 runway.

The look offered a new interpretation of the ballet-inspired style language that has become increasingly associated with Rosalía throughout her Lux era. Dressed in a soft pastel pink ballgown, the singer embraced an extravagant silhouette that felt romantic at first glance but became increasingly unconventional the closer you looked.

The skirt fell into an asymmetrical drape, with luxurious white feathers positioned along both sides. The unexpected detailing gave the gown an almost birdlike quality, turning a traditional evening silhouette into something far more theatrical.

Rosalía made the outfit her own by changing the footwear from the original runway styling. While Erdem had paired the gown with chunky black loafers when it debuted during London Fashion Week, Rosalía chose embellished ballet flats covered in studs. The choice continued her fascination with dancer-inspired footwear while adding a harder, more rebellious edge to the otherwise delicate ensemble.

That contrast is central to Rosalía’s current fashion vocabulary. Her recent looks have repeatedly played with the tension between softness and disruption, combining traditionally feminine silhouettes with details that feel slightly strange, unexpected, or deliberately imperfect.

Even the Erdem gown followed that formula. Its upper half was refined and structured, while the skirt moved in an intentionally uneven direction. A vintage-inspired corsage placed at the hip added another theatrical detail, giving the look the eccentric charm of a glamorous prom queen rather than a conventional red-carpet star.

The aesthetic fits naturally into Rosalía’s ongoing Lux era. Ballet has played a major role in the visual identity surrounding her recent world tour, which incorporated dancer-inspired silhouettes and dramatic proportions throughout its six-month run.

Since the tour concluded in September, the singer has continued exploring that aesthetic away from the stage. During Paris Fashion Week, she experimented with several variations on the ballet skirt, including a pinstriped tutu and a silk-petal Dior design. Each look offered a different interpretation of the dancer-inspired wardrobe she has made part of her current style identity.

Her latest New York appearance pushes that idea into more extravagant territory. Rather than wearing a conventional tutu or understated ballet-inspired piece, Rosalía opted for a full-scale ballgown with feathers and asymmetry.

It remains unclear exactly where she was headed in the elaborate ensemble, but that almost feels beside the point. Rosalía has repeatedly demonstrated that fashion does not always need a practical occasion. Sometimes, the joy comes from simply wearing something spectacular.

Her return to New York also comes at an important moment for Lux. The singer is scheduled to appear on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, while Grammy nomination voting begins next week. With the album considered a major contender for Album of the Year, her recent appearances are keeping both the music and its distinctive visual world firmly in the spotlight.

For Rosalía, fashion and music have always existed in conversation with one another. This latest feathered Erdem gown is another example of how she continues to turn that conversation into something wonderfully unpredictable.
