Anne Hathaway’s Latest Maternity Look Is Straight-Off-the-Runway Carolina Herrera

Anne Hathaway is proving that maternity fashion can be every bit as sophisticated, playful, and runway-worthy as any other style moment. During the New York press tour for her upcoming film Verity, the actor stepped out in a striking Carolina Herrera look taken directly from the brand’s Spring 2027 collection, giving one of the season’s newest runway designs an elegant maternity update.

Just days earlier, Carolina Herrera creative director Wes Gordon had presented the house’s Spring 2027 collection in a celebration of the brand’s 45-year history and the women who have helped shape its identity. Hathaway, a longtime friend of the label and a frequent wearer of Gordon’s designs, quickly brought one of the collection’s standout silhouettes into the real world.

On September 18, Hathaway arrived at a New York City press junket wearing a custom adaptation of a light-blue runway look, reimagined in a vivid ruby-red shade. The two-piece ensemble was crafted from ribbed knit and consisted of a short-sleeved crewneck top paired with a coordinating pencil midi skirt.

The design was defined by its playful, tiered edges. Soft, wavy ruffles appeared along the hems of both pieces, creating movement and giving the structured silhouette a more romantic character. The fitted skirt followed Hathaway’s shape while comfortably highlighting her baby bump, demonstrating how runway fashion can be adapted without losing the personality of the original design.

Hathaway worked with stylist Erin Walsh to complete the look with carefully chosen accessories. She added crystal-embellished stiletto sandals from Aquazzura and several Bulgari pieces, including a Serpenti bracelet and coordinating sunglasses. Her long brown hair was left loose in soft waves, while a matching red lip echoed the vibrant color of the outfit.

The result was polished without feeling overly formal. The bright ruby shade gave the ensemble a confident presence, while the knit texture and flowing ruffles softened the overall silhouette. Rather than relying on traditional maternity dressing, Hathaway embraced a contemporary fashion look that happened to accommodate her pregnancy.

The timing also made the appearance particularly notable. Hathaway wore the custom Carolina Herrera design less than a week after the collection debuted, placing her among the first high-profile stars to bring the Spring 2027 runway into everyday public view. Her relationship with the fashion house has continued to grow over the years, including her appearance in a Carolina Herrera creation for the 2025 Met Gala.

The New York appearance came as Hathaway began promoting Verity, the upcoming adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s bestselling 2018 psychological thriller. Hathaway plays Verity Crawford, a successful author whose career and personal life become increasingly complicated, while Dakota Johnson portrays Lowen Ashleigh, a struggling writer hired to complete a book for her.

With the film scheduled to arrive in theaters on October 2, Hathaway’s promotional wardrobe is already becoming part of the conversation. Her latest Carolina Herrera appearance offered a particularly strong example of how celebrity fashion can combine current runway trends with personal circumstances.

By choosing a custom version of a Spring 2027 design, Hathaway made maternity dressing feel current, colorful, and distinctly fashion-forward. The look was not simply designed around pregnancy. It was designed around style first, proving that the two can work beautifully together.
