Kylie Jenner Takes on Her First Major Acting Role in Bachelorette Weekend

Kylie Jenner is moving into a new chapter of her career, trading the world of beauty, fashion, and reality television for a much more dramatic role. The entrepreneur and reality star is set to star in and executive produce Bachelorette Weekend, a new thriller drama in development at Hulu. The project, reported in October 2026, is expected to become Jenner’s first major scripted acting role.

The premise immediately gives the familiar idea of a girls’ getaway a much darker twist. Jenner will portray a bride whose bachelorette trip ends in tragedy when she is discovered dead in a swimming pool. Her closest friends quickly become suspects, while the story works backward to examine the events that led to her death. According to reports, Jenner’s character serves as the central figure around which the mystery unfolds, making her role particularly important to the series.

The project is also notable because Jenner will have a significant role behind the camera. She is executive producing the series alongside her sister Kim Kardashian, author and screenwriter Lauren Oliver, and producer Aaron Kaplan. Jaiden Kaplan is attached as co-executive producer.

The series is currently operating under the working title Bachelorette Weekend and is based on an unpublished novel by Flora Collins. Oliver, known for her work as an author and screenwriter, created the television adaptation. Kapital Entertainment is developing the project, although further casting details have not yet been announced.

Kim Kardashian’s involvement adds an interesting personal connection to the project. According to reports, the script was originally sent to Kardashian, who believed it could provide an effective starring opportunity for her younger sister. She subsequently shared the project with Jenner, helping set the series in motion.

For Jenner, the role represents a significant step beyond the carefully controlled worlds in which she has built her career. She has spent years working across beauty, fashion, social media, and reality television, but scripted acting requires a very different kind of performance. Rather than appearing as herself, Jenner will have to build a fictional character and carry a story that depends on mystery, tension, and emotional stakes.

The opportunity comes after Jenner began testing the waters of scripted entertainment. She has a cameo in Charli XCX’s A24 film The Moment, giving her an early experience of working within a traditional film production.

Jenner has also spoken openly about being selective when considering a larger acting opportunity. In an August 2026 interview with Who What Wear, she explained that she had already passed on two scripts because she had not felt they were the right fit. She said another project had recently caught her attention, although at the time it had not yet been picked up.

Her comments made clear that taking on a major acting role was not a decision she intended to make casually. Jenner emphasized that she wanted to be certain that a project was right for her, particularly because a demanding production could require travel and time away from her children.

That selectiveness makes Bachelorette Weekend an especially notable choice. The project gives Jenner the opportunity to move into a genre that naturally lends itself to suspense, secrets, complicated relationships, and shifting perspectives. A story about a wedding weekend turning into a murder investigation also offers plenty of room for dramatic tension.

Jenner has previously described feeling nervous about the acting process. While working on The Moment, she turned to Kardashian for advice after receiving the script. She also rehearsed with friends before filming and eventually became comfortable enough to improvise during production.

Another experience helped Jenner build confidence in front of a large production crew. While filming her “King Kylie” campaign for Dunkin’ earlier in 2026, she found herself working in a studio environment larger than anything she had previously experienced. Jenner later described feeling nervous but viewed the experience as a personal test of whether she could perform confidently in front of a large team.

That experience appears to have given her reassurance. After successfully completing the campaign, Jenner said she felt ready to take the next step.

Now, Bachelorette Weekend will put that confidence into a considerably more demanding setting. Carrying a scripted thriller requires more than charisma. Jenner will need to navigate dialogue, character development, emotional scenes, pacing, and the collaborative rhythm of an ensemble production.

Her transition is also part of a broader evolution within the Kardashian-Jenner family, whose members have increasingly expanded beyond reality television into acting, producing, fashion, beauty, and other areas of entertainment. Kim Kardashian herself has pursued scripted acting roles, including a major television performance, making her involvement in Jenner’s next step particularly relevant.

Still, Bachelorette Weekend represents Jenner’s own professional experiment. Her global recognition may have opened the door, but the performance will ultimately determine how audiences respond to her as a scripted actor.

The thriller’s central premise gives her a memorable starting point. A bride, a seemingly celebratory weekend, a shocking death, and a group of friends who may each have something to hide create the ingredients for a mystery designed to keep viewers questioning what really happened.

With Jenner positioned at the center of the story and Kardashian involved behind the scenes, the project already carries significant cultural attention before cameras have fully rolled. For Jenner, however, the bigger significance is personal. After years of building businesses and a public identity around her own life, she is preparing to step into someone else’s.

If Bachelorette Weekend moves forward as planned, it could become one of the most defining career experiments of Jenner’s next chapter. Rather than simply making another celebrity cameo, she will have the opportunity to prove whether her screen presence can translate into a sustained dramatic performance.
